DRSK is
dealing with interactive, innovative,
and efficient dental educational models.
Our patent protected models have general
look and feel fairly similar to other
counterparts that have been used at
pre-clinics for many years. The modifications
in appearance and applied functions
are:
- Enhanced surface and internal anatomy
of the model
- Sensitive teeth and jaws
- Applied interactivity functions
DRSK products have common interactive
functions. For instance:
- Creation and Perception of pseudo-pain
while drilling/touching the teeth or
during the anesthetic injection,
- Blocking pseudo-pain by injection
at correct space,
- Timing schedules regarding anesthesia,
for example the time needed after injection
to get the desired anesthetic level.
DRSK has two current
product lines.
1- DRSK Anesthesia: Educational
system for practice
anesthetic injection techniques. It
improves dental student’s skills
in anesthesia which comprises upper and
lower jaws with embedded sensors where
the injection with needle is performed.
2- DRSK Drill: Educational device for
practicing drilling and anesthetic injection
techniques. It improves dental
student’s skills in anesthesia and
drilling which comprises upper and lower
jaws with embedded sensors and teeth with
embedded sensors.
In DRSK teeth, dentin
and pulp layers are equipped with sensors
and are sensitive to touch or drill. Each
layer can create pseudo-pain signal and
accordingly system reacts by an audio/visual
signal. The audio/visual signal varies
according to the layer which is touched
or drilled.
DRSK jaw is equipped
with sensors for simulating anesthetic
injection. Pseudo-pain signal is blocked
by injecting in the correct anatomical
space, for example for an infra mandibular
block when the needle reaches close enough
to Mandibular foramen, and after a while,
pseudo-pain signals from dentins of the
same injected side, are blocked. Furthermore
when the injection needle reaches even
closer to Mandibular foramen, signals
from both pulps and dentins are blocked.
