Force Eruption of Impacted Tooth

 

14 year old, female

Chief complaint: missing tooth

 

The situation was like this:

  • Missing lower right 5
  • No pain
  • The teeth No. 4 and 6 are strong and healthy, just a mesio-occlusal amalgam filling on 6.
  • The space between lower right 4 and 6 is enough for having a 5 there
  • The radiograph:

 

 

 

My treatment plan was like this:

  • Bonding orthodontics braces on the tooth number 3,4, 6 of the same quadrant
  • A very small window (5*5mm) on gum and bone between teeth No. 4 and 6 (manipulated by DR S. M. Mortazavi)
  • Bonding orthodontics brace on the exposed impacted tooth
  • Helping the impacted, to change the direction of eruption by elastic band and getting help from the adjacent teeth
  • Following her and the radiographs

The result after about three months:
