This is a project which was done by me and 5 classmates (Computer Software Development students). Here you may find a short description of the project, it is developed in order to send data over the PAN (Personal Area Network) and also connecting the PAN to TCP/IP network.

The project consists of two related parts, the main idea of the first part is to read temperature remotely, and the second part helps the user to control the Bluetooth enabled devices remotely

In the first part temperature is sent by clients which are some Bluetooth enabled thermometers located in different parts of the town or country. Degree is sent to a server application on a PC using Bluetooth technology. The Pc is ofcourse Bluetooth enabled and sends the received degree to another server computer via TCP protocol. Second server computer will save the sent temperature in a central Database and it will be accessible over the WWW. There is a facility in the application, if a thermometer is not functioning properly the data can be sent using a Bluetooth enabled mobile.

 

The purpose of the second part is making the capability to control some Bluetooth enabled electronic devices such as refrigerator, security alarm, heating system, etc., over TCP connection. In this part server can connect to client via “Remote Desktop” an application which allows users to connect to a computer running Microsoft Terminal Services the server has a terminal program that can send signals to End-devices for controlling those end devices.

 

Java programming language and ASP.NET are used to implement this application
